Founded in 2012 by Michael Wentworth-Bell. Digital Lode is an immersive media company located in Melbourne, Australia - based at Studio 60, Docklands Cotton Mills. Digital Lode are VR evangelists dedicated to creating real-time rendered, interactive, immersive experiences. The company are the developers behind Espire 1: VR Operative - a single player Virtual Reality experience with a focus on stealth, espionage and action.
Players are given the unique opportunity to physically become an Espire Agent and deploy on dangerous infiltration missions while avoiding detection. The game offers many unique weapons and gadgets that make the most of the positionally-tracked experience that high end VR systems provide. Espire 1: VR Operative was released on 22nd November, 2019.

The Lab offers eight different minigames, each giving a look into the unique ways that VR could interpret various video game genres. These include: an Angry Birds analogue, a tower defence game, an intergalactic shoot ‘em up, secrets galore, and the chance to become a robot mechanic. The rest aren’t really games per se, it’s more that they consider what avenues VR might go down in the future. Amongst these are an interactive solar system, detailed CT scans of the human body and a “virtual holiday” in the Icelandic wilderness, where you’re accompanied by a robotic pup.
